Established in 1736 The Gourock Ropeworks Company moved into the mill building, rebuilding it in 1886 and produced canvas, sailcloth as well as cordage, ropes and fishing nets employing at it's peak over 1,500 men.  The Comet of 1811 was supplied with ropes and the Queen Mary of 1936 with towing bowsers.

Production ceased in 1975 and the building slid into disrepair, until it's rebirth, presenting you with the chance to live in probably one of the early authentic loft spaces in Britain.

 

                    

 

Inside, the lofts are flooded with light from the massive windows, inviting the outside spectacular panoramic view in.    The space is sculpted by the vaulted ceilings and the cast iron columns while exposed trucking trays and external conduit create additional drama.
